Duluth, November 10, 2024 – The National Association of Chinese Americans (NACA) celebrates its 45th anniversary with a Sapphire Jubilee Gala with metro Atlanta's Chinese Americans leaders, business leaders, Asian American Pacific Islanders community leaders, elected officials, and diplomatic representatives.
NACA was founded in 1979 with the mission to promote cultural, educational, scientific, and business relationships between the U.S. and China. NACA has played an integral role in fostering connections between metro Atlanta, the State of Georgia, and the People's Republic of China.
Over the years, NACA also played a key role in supporting the local community and the non-profit organizations. NACA has generously fund academic scholarships to Georgia State University-Perimeter College, Georgia Institute of Technology-Shenzhen program, Emory University, and several Georgia's community colleges.
Over 300 guests attended the Sapphire Jubilee Gala. Guests were treated to a night of musical performances and dances along with a sumptuous 10-course Chinese dinner.
Nicole Love Hendrickson, Chairwoman of Gwinnett Board of Commissioners, delivered the keynote speech for the evening.
U.S. President Joe Biden, Senator Raphael Warnock, Senator Jon Ossoff, Atlanta Mayor's Andre Dickens, His Excellency Xie Feng, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the U.S., sent prepared statements and congratulatory messages to NACA.
Representatives from the Office of Governor Brian Kemp, The Coca-Cola Company, The Carter Center, and Delta Airlines, also delivered congratulatory messages at the Gala.
A Georgia State House of Representatives Resolution was presented to Ms. Lani Wong, Chairwoman of NACA, by Georgia's Asian American Pacific Islanders Legislative Caucus.
An uplifting drum performance by Dragon Phoenix Beats, a volunteer Chinese performing group, provided the opening performance.
Kerry Lee & The Atlanta Chinese Dance Company delivers a colorful Chinese dance performances with traditional music.
Georgia Tech Seoulstice, a K-Pop inspired dance group, delivers upbeat dance performances which were enjoyed by the audiences.
