Atlanta, Jan. 5, 2024 — On Jan. 17, the High Museum of Art will launch a new free admission day on the third Wednesday of each month, generously supported by the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program. Access for All will be a cornerstone program of the High’s Culture Collective initiative, featuring events and classes designed for curious adults to explore art, exercise their creativity, learn new skills and make social connections.
“Through Culture Collective, we aim to foster lifelong learning and growth, celebrate the wonderful diversity of our remarkable city, and embrace accessibility in new and important ways,” said Rand Suffolk, the High’s director. “We are grateful to the Art Bridges Foundation for this strategic and vital investment, and we look forward to welcoming all on these special days.”
Culture Collective offers a welcoming place for adults with a passion for learning to experience new sights, sounds and ways of seeing the world. Its classes and events are designed to broaden perspectives, stretch interests and bolster community through the shared lens of creative expression.
At the first Access for All day on Jan. 17, visitors can enjoy a sampling of dynamic programs:
Art Classes:
Open Studio: The High offers many studio workshops and classes. This drop-in program encourages adults of all ages to explore different materials and techniques with guidance from High Museum of Art teaching artists.
Gallery Conversations and Tours:
Through Lines: During these 30-minute gallery conversations, the High’s educators will explore two different pieces to connect art across time, geography, identity and belief.
Performances:
Jazz: Performers from the High’s popular Friday Jazz series will layer notes and improvise melodies for a special daytime experience.
The Art Bridges Foundation’s support will fund Access for All through January 2027.
