Swainsboro, February 5, 2026 — Dongwon Autopart Technology will invest $30 million to build a new manufacturing plant in Emanuel County, bringing 200 jobs to the rural Georgia community over the coming years.
The South Korean automotive supplier, which has operated in the U.S. since 2003, will construct the facility at the Highway 297 Industrial Park near Swainsboro. Hiring is expected to start in 2026 for positions including management, system leads, and production workers.
Founded in 1971, Dongwon manufactures doorframes, seat frames, and battery frames for automotive companies. The company already employs over 500 people in the Southeast, including at its Hogansville, Georgia plant, which will continue operations.
“We are proud to be part of growing the state's automotive industry,” said Heather Hollstein, the company's Human Resources Manager. “Thank you to Emanuel County for welcoming us.”
The project represents Emanuel County's largest economic development win in more than 30 years, according to Ken Warnock, CEO of the Emanuel County Development Authority.
The new facility will hire for management positions, system leads, and production personnel as construction progresses.
Governor Brian Kemp praised the investment as evidence of Georgia's expanding automotive sector reaching communities statewide. “Georgia's thriving automotive industry is creating new opportunities for Georgians statewide, no matter their zip code,” Kemp said.
Georgia officials highlighted the expansion as part of the state's booming automotive sector along the I-16 corridor, where suppliers are positioning themselves near major manufacturers and the Port of Savannah.
