During the middle of this month of April, Georgia welcomes a global influx of creativity, culture, and commerce as the World Korean Business Convention (WKBC) makes its grand debut in Duluth. From April 17th through 19th, Korean businesses of all kinds. From eco-conscious cosmetics to high-tech ramen machines, they are showcasing their innovations, hoping to spark international partnerships and bring a taste of Korean excellence to the American market.

The three-day convention started with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony. Top Korean business leaders stood proudly in a rectangular formation, each donning white gloves, signaling unity, formality, and a shared commitment to global innovation. Applause erupted as the ribbon was sliced, launching the international event into motion.

The first day set the tone with vibrant booths featuring everything from skincare to gourmet snacks, kitchen technology to wellness products. Participants eagerly strolled the aisles, discovering a range of Korean-made creations that blend traditional values with modern ingenuity. Below are some of the standout entrepreneurs and products making waves at this year’s convention.

Ramyun Zip by The Touch for America’s Ramen Revolution
Among the tastiest attractions was Chris Kim’s booth, representing The Touch, the minds behind the Ramyun Zip franchise. Though ramen has long been a global favorite, Kim brought a novel twist using an interactive ramen bar with over 120 varieties and customizable toppings.

“The ramen machine has been around for two decades in Korea, but no one really brought it to the U.S., until now,” said Kim. “Ramyun Zip is now opening in several U.S. locations. Customers can choose from a toppings bar and make any type of ramen they want.” It’s fast, fun, and flavorful, which makes it a winning recipe for success in America’s food scene.

Another highlight came from D&B Co., LTD, a dessert company redefining donuts. Shin Jong Cheol and his team showcased their baked, oil-free donuts made with unexpected ingredients like tofu.

“Donuts are usually fried in oil, but we don’t use oil at all. They’re baked,” said Shin. “Our goal is to make pastries a little healthier, with lower sugar and animal-based dairy that gives it richness without the guilt.” With modern consumers seeking healthier alternatives without compromising taste, D&B’s treats were a crowd favorite.

Coffee Gummy for Your Morning Brew in a Bite
One of the most novel products on display came from Sung Jin Kim, the mind behind Coffee Gummy, launched in October 2024. As the name suggests, it’s exactly what it sounds like, a portable, chewable coffee jelly for caffeine lovers on the go.

“I created Coffee Gummy because I wanted to make coffee more convenient,” Kim said. “Americans love coffee, and now they can have it anywhere without a cup.” This product bridges the gap between snack and stimulant, perfect for commuters, travelers, or anyone needing a quick boost.

Oppanae Premium Roasted Sweet Potatoes: A Flavor Fusion
Another mouthwatering innovation came from Yong Ho Song, CEO of FarmsBank International Co., who brought an unexpected fusion of ingredients to the table. His signature product? Roasted sweet potatoes stuffed with cheese, kimchi, and pineapple.

“This is a very original idea, even in Korea,” said Song. “It’s healthy and tasty. I hope to see it soon in stores like Costco, H Mart, and local groceries.” The bold mix of savory, sweet, and spicy flavors represents a trend in Korean cuisine as experimental yet deeply rooted in traditional ingredients.
