OFW GA Foundation Launches to Support Filipino Workers Across Georgia

The foundation seeks to serve a broad cross-section of the Filipino workforce, including healthcare professionals, technology specialists, domestic workers, and hospitality employees—groups that continue to play a vital role in Georgia’s economy and communities.

Atlanta, March 25, 2026 — A new nonprofit organization aimed at strengthening and protecting Filipino workers has officially launched in Georgia. OFW GA Foundation, Inc. announced its entry into the community with a mission centered on advocacy, education, emergency support, and cultural connection for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Filipino immigrants statewide.

The foundation seeks to serve a broad cross-section of the Filipino workforce, including healthcare professionals, technology specialists, domestic workers, and hospitality employees—groups that continue to play a vital role in Georgia’s economy and communities.

“We envision a future where every Filipino worker is informed, protected, valued, and supported, no matter where they work or live,” said Jane Rolen, president of the organization.

As part of its launch, the foundation is rolling out several core initiatives designed to address both immediate and long-term needs. Among them is an emergency financial assistance program that will provide grants of up to $2,500 to workers facing documented hardships such as wage theft, workplace abuse, or medical emergencies.

The organization is also introducing specialized membership categories tailored to different industries, including healthcare, technology, and domestic care. These programs aim to foster peer support through mentorship networks and small-group “mastermind” sessions focused on professional growth and community impact.

In addition, the foundation plans to offer advocacy and education programs covering workers’ rights, financial literacy, legal access, and career development—key areas often identified as gaps for immigrant workers navigating complex systems.

The nonprofit is led by a founding board that includes Chairperson Jane Rolen, Treasurer Serita Taylor, and Secretary Kristel Silang. As a registered 501(c)(3) organization, it operates under guidelines intended to ensure transparency and accountability in its programs and funding.

To mark its official launch, the foundation will host a community picnic event on Sunday, April 12, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lucky Shoals Park. Organizers describe the gathering as an opportunity for connection, outreach, and shared vision among Filipino workers and allies in the region.

More information about membership, services, and event registration is available on the organization’s website.
