Gateway85 CID Honors Immigrants With New “American Dream Hall of Fame”

Norcross, October 9, 2024 – Gateway85 Community Improvement District (CID) officially announces the creation of the Great American Dream Hall of Fame to celebrate the inspiring achievements of immigrants within the CID. The Hall of Fame is an extension of the Great American Dream Series, which shares the stories of those who have come to the United States and found their way into this special oasis where nationalities, cultures, spiritual beliefs and more find their way to each other.

Emory Morsberger, Executive Director of Gateway85, honored five individuals whose stories have been published and inducted them into the Great American Dream Hall of Fame. The inaugural inductees were honored at the 2nd Annual Global Media Mixer, hosted by the Atlanta Press Club, the World Affairs Council, and the Georgia Press Association. In addition to international media that attended the event, Consulate Generals from India, Mexico, Korea, and Japan attended the event.

Among the honorees are Shiv Aggarwal, owner of Global Mall, Abbie Park, Vice President of the Southeast U.S. Korean Chamber of Commerce, and Veronica Moreno, Founder and President of Olé Mexican Foods. Their contributions to the local economy and the multicultural vibrancy of the Gateway85 area are a testament to the impact immigrants have on shaping our nation's future.

In the heart of Gwinnett County, particularly around Jimmy Carter Boulevard—known as the “Hub of World Diversity”—Gateway85 CID represents a melting pot of cultures. The area is home to 181 nationalities and 108 languages, with more than 30% of its residents born outside the United States. The Series has captured the incredible journeys of individuals from these diverse backgrounds, illustrating how immigrants in the CID have built thriving lives, businesses, and communities.
