Washington D.C., February 16, 2023 — As he begins his first full six-year term, U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) announced the addition of former Democratic State Representative and Secretary of State nominee Bee Nguyen to his senior leadership team.
Beginning March 3, Nguyen will serve as State Director for the Senator, responsible for advising the Senator and managing his Georgia-based team. Additionally, the Senator announced that Meredith Lilly, a longtime counselor and his current State Director, was promoted to serve as his Senior Advisor. In this role, she will serve as a senior advisor to the Senator on issues occurring in both Georgia and Washington, D.C.
A graduate of Georgia State University,Bee Nguyen made history in December 2017 when she became the first Vietnamese-American elected to the Georgia House of Representatives, as well as the first Asian-American Democratic woman to hold a state office in Georgia. Most recently, Nguyen served as the Democratic nominee for Georgia Secretary of State. As a leader in Georgia politics, Nguyen has been a vocal champion for issues regarding voting rights, public education, and criminal justice reform.
