Atlanta, Nov 22, 2021 – A Laotian American is aiming to create history by running for the Democratic nomination for Governor of Arkansas. Being the first AAPI woman to ever run for highest office in state of Arkansas has brought much attention to Supha Xayprasith-Mays.

A daughter of a single mother who struggled through the challenges of being an immigrant in America. Supha has a unique perspective of understanding the struggles of lower income families and individuals who doesn't fit the mold of ordinary Americans.

Supha is the only woman candidate running for the Democratic nomination for the Governor of Arkansas. She was in town for meet and greet with her campaign supporters.

The Supha For Governor campaign is rooted in growth, inclusion, education, healthcare, and empowerment. She will put people first and work to unite our deeply divided state.

“I am running for Governor of Arkansas because I cannot stand on the sidelines while so many Arkansans – and their families – are struggling. Arkansas ranks 48th in household income and, as a result, too many of our children are going to bed hungry. Jobs have been lost along with our sense of optimism,” said Xayprasith-Mays.

“I want to to make a difference in people's life. I have the experience of humanity and life to understand the challenges of the people. Inclusion is also important for me. We have an obligation and responsibility to help others around us and to make our world a better place,” said Xayprasith-Mays.

She is married to Attorney Richard Mays Sr., a former member of the Arkansas Legislature and a former Supreme Court Justice of Arkansas.
