NACA awarded cash donations to GSU, GA Tech-Shenzhen and Good Shepherd Services

Chamblee, February 10, 2018 — The National Association of Chinese Americans hosted its annual fundraising dinner to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Dog.

Over 300 guests including elected officials, business and community leaders attended the annual event. Among the guest of honors included Congressman Hank Johnson, U.S. Representative, GA 4th District and Dr. Wang Yu, Deputy Consul General of Consulate General of Peoples Republic of China in Houston.  Dr. Wang Yu also delivers the keynote speech for the evening.

Also present are Georgia’s House Minority Leader Stacey Abrahams, Doraville Mayor Donna Pittman, Stone Mountain Mayor Patricia Wheeler, Atlanta Regional Commission Executive Director Doug Hooker, Fulton County Attorney Patrise Perkins-Hooker, and Georgia Court of Appeals Judge Carla Wong McMillian.

NACA presented donations of $10,000 to the Georgia State University Perimeter College, $10,000 donation to Georgia tech’s Shenzhen campus in China, and $5000 donation to Good Shepherd Services of Atlanta. NACA’s President was awarded the Dedicated Service Awards from the NAVA Board for his years of dedicated service to local community and NACA.

NACA also announced a new program, “Leadership Development Program” for  development of young Asian American. The new program aims to cultivate young legal talents and future leaders of the Asian legal community. NACA also connect law students and young lawyers with experienced practicing attorneys, who will share their career advice, practice experience, and provide leadership guidance to the mentees.
