Sandy Springs, February 13, 2019 — The Chinese Community Center welcome the Year of the Pig with its annual Lunar New Year celebration at the Westin Perimeter North Atlanta.
Over 300 guests including state legislators, business and community leaders joined in the celebration.
Vincent Jing-Yen Liu, Director General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta delivers the evening’s keynote address.
“I am grateful for the support and assistance from the Chinese Community Center to make tonight’s event possible. 2019 marks the 40th anniversary of both the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA) and the Taipei-Atlanta Sister city relations. I look forward to working with each of you in a series of celebratory events to celebrate our enduring partnership,” said Director General Liu.
State representatives from Alabama, South Carolina and neighboring states also participated in the new year celebration.
Karyn Greer, local television anchor woman and community liaison, provided the evening’s program introductions and ceremony.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous 10-course Chinese New Year banquet dishes along with entertainment by “Alice and The Wave Band.”
