NACA celebrates Lunar New Year of Rabbit with scholarship donations to GSU and Georgia Tech

Dr. M. Brian Blake, President of Georgia State University accepted a scholarship donation from NACA Board of Directors for its nursing program at Perimeter College. NACA also donated $18,000 scholarship fund to Georgia Institute Technology.

Chamblee, February 19, 2023 – National Association of Chinese Americans (NACA) hosted its annual Lunar New Year dinner gala with scholarship donations to Georgia State University and Georgia Institute of Technology. Guests were treated to a 10-course of Chinese banquet along with traditional Chinese and lion dance performances.

“This year's celebration marks our 43rd anniversary. NACA will continue its tradition of bridging cultures, building leaders, and supporting communities,” said Maggie Mers, President of National Association of Chinese Americans.

Alex Wan, Atlanta City Council provided the evening's greetings remark along with Paula Soo, an award winning children and young adult book author, delivers the keynote address.

“NACA has been donating scholarship funds to Georgia State University and Georgia Tech to assist student in needs and also to promote diversity in workforce development for over a decade. We will continue to assist in ways that we could,” said Lani Wong, Chair of National Association of Chinese Americans.

Hon. Judge Alvin T. Wong, State Court of DeKalb County, presided over the evening ceremony.
