AAPI communities host “Get Out To Vote” Rally with AAPI members of Congress and Daniel Dae Kim

AAPI Democrats brought out the political heavyweights to rally for voters turnout for December 6 runoff election at Chinatown Mall.

Chamblee, December 3, 2022 – AAPI Democrats brought out the political heavyweights to rally for voters turnout for December 6 runoff election at Chinatown Mall.

House Minority Whip Sam Park, State Representative Long Tran, House Representative Grace Meng, House Representative Judy Chu, House Representative Ted Lieu, House Representative Pramila Jayapal, House Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi, House Representative Marilyn Strickland and newly elected GA State Senator Nabilah Islam participated at the rally.

Daniel Dae Kim, the Korean American actor also participated with several AAPI artist and writer to rally the AAPI communities to vote.

AAPIs are the fastest growing population and electorate in Georgia and across the country. Unofficial exit polls indicated Senator Warnock gained AAPI voters 59% in the initial midterm elections.

AAPI voters were a decisive factor in President Biden and Senator Warnock’s 2020 victories as AAPI voter turnout nearly doubled from 73,000 to 134,000 from 2016 to 2020 according to TargetSmart.

In addition, Georgia AAPI voters supported Democrats in both 2020 and in the 2021 runoffs by strong majorities at 57.9% and 58.1% respectively, according to data by Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund.

The rally was sponsored by ASPIRE PAC and AAPI Victory Fund.
