Pho Viet Number One – a Vietnamese restaurant taking off in Peachtree Corners

A new Vietnamese pho restaurant opens for business in Peachtree Corners a fortnight ago. It was formerly Ba Bellie Bistro located across from Walgreen on Peachtree Parkway.

A grandiose name “Pho Viet Number One” offers a wide range of Vietnamese dishes ranging from pho to hot clay pot ala Viet style.

The one item that caught my attention is Bo Kho – Beef Stew Soup which they offer 4 variations of it. Offered with rice noodles, egg noodles, rice vermicelli or french bread.

AD: High Museum of Atlanta

Unlike Ba Bellie which tends to serve a pretentious Viet-American fusion menu, this place offers a genuinely authentic menu that will bring your taste buds to Vietnam.

You could speak of authenticity by the clientele that patronize the place — mostly Asian Americans.

I ordered a large bowl of Pho Tai Gan, essentially filet mignon slices with soft tendon and an appetizer order of Shrimp Goi Chuon, spring roll with shrimp.

The spring roll is freshly made and served with a good dollop of peanut dipping sauce.

The bowl of pho noodles is relatively modest in size with a good serving of filet mignon and tendon. My biggest gripe against their pho is the temperature of the soup. It was relatively cold as I like my soup to be served piping hot especially in cold weather. Its rice noodles are chewy but it was not the freshly hand made type.

Overall, prices are reasonable and portions are relatively big.

The owners basically rearrange a few furniture and maintains the interior decor inherited from Ba Bellie.

I recommend that you should at least check out the place if you're craving from some pho or authentic Viet dishes. The restaurant is currently offering a 20% Grand Opening Special discount until Nov 6 upon checkout.

In my return visit, I plan to try the hot clay pot dishes or the beef stew soup.
