With the cold winter temperature setting in, you tend to crave for warm savory dishes to fill your tummy. I came across a little hole in the wall place located around the shopping complex that famously host the Hong Kong Supermarket on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. A trusted friend whose family has a legacy of Vietnamese restaurants in metro Atlanta introduced me to this place.

Pho Dai Nam is hidden around the corner of the building. The shopping complex is widely known as the hub of Vietnamese social and shopping activity.

The menu offers the standard Pho menus and several house favorites such as Bun Bo Hue (beef and lemongrass noodle soup), Bun Rieu (crab and tomato soup), Bun Mam (fermented fish soup)to the exotic Mien Man Ga Di Bo (cassava vermicelli soup with organic chicken & bamboo).

Prices for the pho noodle soups selection ranges from Small ($9.30), Regular ($11.30) to Large ($13.50).House favorites prices range from $9,95 to $11.95. I considered the menu prices to be fair and cheap given the rising inflation of food costs.

AD: High Museum of Atlanta

I highly recommend the pho as the noodles are made fresh daily according to the owner. You would immediately taste the difference as the texture is silkier and softer than the standard dried noodles used in commercial pho business.

The ingredients and its meat are tender and fresh. Most importantly is the generous portions and quality of soup. The soup is savory cooked and has natural sweetness taste. Unlike most places where the bone broth is mixed with MSG, I don't think they used any MSG in their broth here.

The restaurant wait staff are friendly and attentive. This place gets busy during lunch hours as many workers and business folks shows up for their lunch. I also give kudos for their cleanliness and friendly service.

They do a brisk business with take-outs too. Give this place a try in person when you're craving for a hot bowl of pho.
