Taipei, Jan 11, 2020- China’s Taiwan Affairs Office reiterated its opposition to any form of independence for Taiwan on Saturday, saying it was committed to a “one country, two systems” model for the island, which Beijing claims as sacred Chinese territory.

The comments, reported by Chinese state media, came after Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen won re-election by a large majority and said the island would not be threatened by Beijing. – Reuters
