Norcross, June 28, 2025 – The National Association of Chinese Americans (NACA) convened its annual meeting on Saturday to announce the election of its 2025–2026 Board of Directors and officers, ushering in a new chapter of leadership for the Georgia-based civic organization.

Nellie Li was elected president, succeeding Maggie Mers, who concluded her tenure after serving two terms. The transition was formally overseen by DeKalb County Court Judge Alvin T. Wong, a longtime member of NACA, who supervised and announced the election results.

In brief remarks following her election, Li reaffirmed the organization’s founding mission of “building bridges across communities” and pledged to strengthen NACA’s ongoing advocacy for Chinese American civic engagement and representation throughout the state.

State Representative Long Tran HD-80 delivers the keynote remarks at the annual meeting. Rep. Long provided a brief update on the Georgia House legislation and laws affecting the Chinese American community and businesses in Georgia.

NACA, which has long been a fixture in Georgia’s Asian American community, also confirmed its full slate of officers and board members for the new term:

Chair: Lani Wong
Immediate Past President: Maggie Mers
President: Nellie Li
Treasurer: Carol Ng

General Board Members:
Brian Mock, Gene Hanratty, Tien Sun, Adam Chen, Sissi Jennings Chen, Nancy Lan, and Shandry Law

The organization is expected to continue its programs in cultural exchange, education, and civic partnerships under the new leadership.
