Washington DC, January 8, 2024 – The Council of Korean Americans (CKA) has officially open its application for the 2024 Emerging Leaders Scholarship (ELS) Program.
Each year, numerous students apply for summer internships at non-profits, government offices, or non-government organizations to receive real-world experiences and explore potential careers in community service or public service. However, many students are prevented from accessing these internships because they lack the know-how to find these experiences and sufficient funding, especially if it requires travel and living in another city. These internships can be costly and restricted to only well-resourced students.
Aware of these hurdles, CKA is providing a number of grants and support for upper-class college students and graduate students who are seeking public service internships in Washington, DC, and New York City areas and are interested in the Korean American community.
This nationally competitive scholarship program will provide up to $4,500 in funding, invaluable mentorship opportunities with top Korean American leaders, field trip opportunities to a wide variety of public service offices, and lifelong friendships with other student recipients from around the country.
