Moore and Dickens race towards Nov 30 Atlanta Mayoral runoffs

The race was too close to call until Thursday late morning.

Atlanta, Nov 4, 2021 – The Atlanta Mayoral race will proceed to runoffs between Felicia Moore and Andre Dickens.

Former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed finished third with 22 percent of vote behind Dickens who received 23 percent of the vote. The race was too close to call until Thursday late morning.

Both run-off candidates have served in the Atlanta City Council. Moore was the former Atlanta City Council's President whereas Dickens served as a Councilman since 2013.

Former Mayor Kasim Reed attempted to be the second mayor in Atlanta history behind former Mayor Maynard Jackson to be elected three terms mayor.

“I want to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to every member of my campaign, every volunteer and every supporter who believed in my leadership and vision for this city,” said Reed. “Although my campaign was unsuccessful, I still believe our city’s future is brightest as one that is united,” said the former Mayor in a press statement.
