Duluth, Oct 13, 2020 – The Laotian American Society (LAS), alongside Lao Asian Community Services of Georgia (LACSSGA) and M&S Homecare have collaborated to create the COVID-19 Lao Community Response Team of Georgia. The response team are partnering to assist families and individuals in needs during the COV-19 pandemic.
In conjunction with the USDA and its Farmers to Families Food Box Program, the response team will be coordinating relief efforts via distribution of food boxes to all affected individuals, families and community at-large in Georgia. Food distributions are distributed at specified locations throughout metro Atlanta on Saturday, Oct 17, 2020 from 1:00pm-5:00pm.
The goal is to provide sustainability through food boxes to the community through these uncertain times. The response team’s Phase 2 is to remain in operation until all USDA Food Box awards have been exhausted.
