Atlanta, November 19, 2019 — Atlanta’s international community received an overview of South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in administration plan in transforming the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) into an international peace zone.
Ambassador Chang Jae-bok, Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea, delivers the keynote address at a luncheon hosted by the Atlanta Council on International Relations at Piedmont Driving Club.
Ambassador Chang also provided an overview of the peace talks between the North and South Korea governments. He also shared details of the proposed international peace zone in the Korean Peninsula.
He was accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with stops included Chicago and New York.
Over 150 participants attended the luncheon with a post-event meet and greet reception hosted by the Consulate General of Korea in Atlanta.
