NACA elects new board of directors at annual meeting

Norcross, June 9, 2018 —  The National Association of Chinese Americans (NACA) held its 2018 annual meeting at Chow King Buffet Restaurant to elect its Board of Directors for the 2018-2019 term.

NACA’s President,  Ric Hubler, thanked members, friends and family for their participation and support of NACA during the past year and promised more quality programs and events for the coming year to benefit members and achieve NACA’s missions.

NACA members cast their ballots and elected the following members to serve on the 2018-2019 Board of Directors: Mike (Xiaogeng) Deng, Meng Han, Gene Hanratty, Leona (Bingzi) Hu, Ric Hubler, Shandry Law, Nellie (Hui Ru) Li, Christina Liao, Maggie Mers, Brian Mock, Carol Ng, Christian Liao, Jenny (Jianning) Tang, Xiao Tong, Paula Wang, Lani Wong, Lynn Yang, and Renan Zhuang.

Two guest speakers including Sam Park, Georgia State Representative District 101, and Bee Nguyen, State Representative District 89, spoke about the importance of diversity of voices in leadership.

Established in 1980, NACA strives to achieve its mission of “bridging cultures, building leaders, and benefiting communities” by organizing and sponsoring activities that promote cultural, educational, scientific and business relations and exchanges between U.S. and China. It  encourages Chinese-Americans to participate in the American political process while preserving their Chinese heritage in the American culture.
