Atlanta, Jan 29, 2020 — Kyle B. Wingfield, President & CEO of Georgia Public Policy Foundation, presented its Freedom Award to Sunny K. Park at its 29th annual awards dinner at the Fox Theatre. The award is presented to a notable Georgian who exemplifies the principles of private enterprise and personal integrity.
Past notable winners included Griffin Bell, former U.S. Attorney, Truett Cathy, Founder of Chick-fil-a, Zell Miller, former Governor and U.S. Senator, and Phil Gramm, former U.S. Senator.
Over 300 invited guests including Consul General Kim Young-jun of South Korea, Consul General Kazuyuki Takeuchi of Japan attended the dinner awards.
“I am most humbled as the Chief Executive Janitor of General Building Maintenance to accept this prestigious honor,” said Sunny Park in his acceptance speech. Ana give os South Korea, Park immigrated to the United States in 1974 with no money and has achieved his goal of paying $1 million in income tax annually.
The keynote address for the awards dinner was delivered by John A. Allison, former CEO of Cato Institute and former Chairman and CEO of BB&T Corporation.
