Korean Consulate hosts culinary tasting to promote its cuisine

Atlanta, October 17, 2018 — The Consulate General of The Republic of Korea hosted a Korean culinary food tasting reception at the law office of Nelson Mullins in midtown Atlanta.

The evening was attended by over 150 invited guests to sample and introduced to contemporary Korean dishes.

“Korean food is fast gaining popularity in America and there are many new restaurants serving Korean cuisines,” said Young-jun Kim, Consul General of Republic of Korea in his welcome remarks.

K-Pop music is widely popular worldwide and Korean cuisines has the potential to reach the same level of popularity worldwide, according to Consul General Kim.

Guests were treated to a sampling of Korean food ranging from bibimbap to mandous. Korean beverages and beers were also introduced at the reception.

The food tasting event is part of the Consulate General of Korea’s celebratory of 50th year Korean immigration to metro Atlanta.
