CRC mission is to equip and to empower the community to seek equitable solutions to social problems by providing quality research, consultation, education, and policy advocacy, according to its release statement.

Duluth, December 17, 2024 – A new Asian American Pacific Islander community organization was officially launched with a community gathering and introduction. Community Resource Corporation hosted two consecutive days of Open House to introudce CRC community engagement and its services to the community.

At the Open House, Jung Ha Kim Ph.D, the founder and President of CRC, presented the historical background, its mission, current projects and its staff to the general public.

Dr. Kim has formerly served as CEO of Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS), and the founding director of Asian American Research Institute at CPACS.

CRC mission is to equip and to empower the community to seek equitable solutions to social problems by providing quality research, consultation, education, and policy advocacy, according to its release statement.

Dr. Kim highlighted different ways of “doing nonprofit” in her presentation especially after the COVID pandemic. For example, CRC did not start by securing an office space, but by addressing the needs of the community.

“The people and the work came to us” even before CRC was formally incepted in June 2023. CRC secured its program sites before having its main office.

The Open House aimed to share their projects that they have been working on at various sites and on different levels: local, regional, and national level.

The current CRC work includes the national study on Asian Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health with the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA, funded by NIH; the Status of Aging in Asian America, a survey in 4 languages (Chinese, English, Korean, and Vietnamese) in GA; older adults’ exercise classes, and Respite Care for immigrants living with dementia and their family caregivers reside in Gwinnett County, collaborating with the State Representative of Marvin Lim and his organization, Lucky Shoals Community Association.

Among new initiatives in 2025, CRC plans to launch a “community research lab” to strengthen the community’s capacity to take charge of necessary social changes that advance access to resources and to further community empowerment.
