Washington DC, Feb 13, 2021 – Donald Trump was acquitted by the U.S. Senate in his second impeachment trial in 12 months as his fellow Republicans shielded him from accountability for the deadly assault by his supporters on the U.S. Capitol, a shrine of American democracy. The final Senate vote was 57 to impeach and 43 to acquit. It requires a total tally of 67 votes to impeach the former President.
