Charlotte Nash won the race for chairman of Gwinnett County's Board of Commissioners on Tuesday election.

Nash won 55 percent of the votes cast on Tuesday special election. Nearest candidates Larry Gause won 26 percent of vote. Other candidates Will Costa and Gerald Duane Kissel finished with less than 10 percent of votes.

Nash campaigned on her past experiences working with Gwinnett government. She had pledged to oppose property tax increase for this year and next year.

Nash managed to raised $109,000 for her campaign and had promised to balance the county budget if she wins.
