Preface, early childhood literacy group, raised over $100K in funds and resources to support schools

Preface, an early childhood literary organization hosted its 3rd Anniversary Childhood Literacy Benefit Gala at the TPC Sugarloaf Country Club.

Duluth, Sept 18, 2022 – Preface, an early childhood literary organization hosted its 3rd Anniversary Childhood Literacy Benefit Gala at the TPC Sugarloaf Country Club. The non-profit organization has raised over $100K in funds and resources to promote and support early childhood literary program nationwide.

Marty Kemp, the first Lady of Georgia provided a virtual remarks at the gala. US Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux and Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, also provided remarks at the evening gala.

Several prominent elected officials and representatives including State Rep. Gregg Kennard State Rep. Donna McLeod, Gwinnett County Commissioner Marlene Fosque, Martha Revelo, Outreach Director for US Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock, Gwinnett County School Board Member Karen Watkins
Duluth City Councilman Jamin Harkness, Interim Commissioner of the Atlanta Dept. of Transportation (and former Duluth City Councilwoman) Marsha Anderson Bomar attended the gala.

During the dinner gala, the 2022 Preface Legacy Award Winners were awarded to 2 students: Liliana Trujillo, Graves Elementary and Sharon Chen, Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Principal Cindy Moffett of Crews Middle School also gave remarks in her capacity as Preface's Inaugural Legacy Award Winner.

Preface operated with the support of an exceptional board. Its leadership team members in attendance for the evening included Antigone “Tiggy” Valen, Co-President, LT. David Via-USNR, Co-President, Hayes Vaughan, Board Member & Organizational Treasurer, Dr. Wandy Taylor, Board Member & Expert Educational Advisor.

“As we see every day in our work supercharging literacy for students across Georgia and America, supporting our next generation truly takes a village, and all of us at Preface are grateful to consistently work on a bipartisan basis with all leaders and stakeholders who share our belief that every child deserves the supports they need to achieve their own American Dreams,” said JT Wu in his remarks.

Earth Baby, an organic baby products manufacturer is the lead sponsor for the 3rd annual fundraising gala.
