Suwanee, April 28, 2022 – Three major ethnic news organizations officially launched Ethnic Media Collaboration to bring insightful news and information to communities of color in Georgia.
The publishers of Atlanta Voice, Georgia Asian Times, and Mundo Hispanico comes together in a conversation with Stacey Abrams, Democratic Party candidate for Governor of Georgia in an hour long conversation at an event hall in Suwanee.
Stacey Abrams touches on various topics ranging from education, job, healthcare, immigration and public safety in her conversations with Janis Ware, Publisher of Atlanta Voice, Rene Alegria, Publisher of Mundo Hispanico, and Li Wong, Publisher of Georgia Asian Times.
“As Governor of Georgia, I would veto the legislation,” said Abrams in a sharp rebuke to a question on the latest Governor Brian Kemp signing into law a series of education bills, including one that censors discussion and information about race and racism in K-12 schools.
The Democratic Party candidate spend an hour answering a series of questions from the three publishers covering wide topics relevant to respective ethnic communities.
The panel discussion was livestreamed on social media platform and was followed across the country.
“This is a historic day for Georgia. The ethnic communities have come together in sharing information and resources that can impact the quality of life in Georgia,” said Li Wong, Publisher of Georgia Asian Times.
“Georgia has one of the fastest growing and largest Latin community in the nation. Our collaborative effort reflects the emerging communities of colors standing united,” said Rene Alegria, Publisher of Mundo Hispanico.
“We have been in business for over 52 years. We look forward to a productive collaboration with Mundo Hispanico and Georgia Asian Times to ensure the voice of color communities are heard,”said Janis Ware, Publisher of Atlanta Voice.
The Ethnic Media Collaboration has already lined up several Georgia leaders for the next conversation. Full details and schedule will be released once the programming and logistics are finalized.
