Atlanta, November 14, 2019 — The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Atlanta held a government awards ceremony to commemorate the 13th World Korean Day.

Jay Eun, former president of the Korean American Association of Georgia (KAAGA), received the Order of Civil Merit (Camellia Medal) and Kun-kwon Park, CEO of Atlanta Radio Korea, received the Prime Minister’s Commendation.

Jay Eun was credited for giving prominence to the status of Korean American businessmen while he was the senior director at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and spearheading the campaign to reconstruct the Korean American Center, which was burnt down in 2014.

Jay also served as a member of the Atlanta Korean Immigration History Compilation Committee, and contributed to strengthening the political and social exchanges between the U.S. mainstream society and the Korean American society.
