Shooting suspect of Vietnamese American lawyer arrested in Cobb’s traffic stop

Atlanta, April 5, 2017 — Atlanta Police Department confirmed the arrest of the murder suspect who fatally shot a Vietnamese American lawyer at a Peachtree Road crosswalk in Midtown on Monday.

On Tuesday, Atlanta Police confirmed the arrest of 39-year old Raylon Browning of Roswell in the shooting death of Trinh Huynh. Browning was arrested at about 9:00 pm on Monday after he ran a red light in Cobb County.

Officers found that Browning was already on a previous aggravated assault charges on April 2 stabbing of two other individuals. Officers also found a gun which they suspect is the murder weapon used on Monday’s shooting.

A tip was made to the Atlanta Crime Stopper on Browning being the shooting suspect.

“This only really begins the investigation,” Atlanta Police Deputy Chief Darryl Tolleson said. “There’s so much more that’s part of this case that we still don’t know.”

Browning is scheduled to make an appearance at the Fulton County Jail court on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
