Atlanta, Sept 10 – The 7th Atlanta Asian Film Festival started with a Premiere Night Gala at Spring Hall attended by film makers, producers, and Asian community leaders.

Honorable Al Busyra Basnur, Consul General of Indonesia, Honorable Anna Kao, Director General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Atlanta, and Honorable Yoji Miyamori, Deputy Consul General of Japan also attended the Premiere Night Gala.

Guests were treated to a preview of films scheduled for screening at this year’s festival. Fabian De Rozario and Wendy Ho are master of ceremonies for the evening’s program.

Among the films that drew attention at the Premiere Gala are produced by Asian American film makers, “Touch” and “Mumbhai Connection.”

This year’s festival runs from Oct 7-22 and screening venues are at White Hall-Emory University, Cinefest-Georgia State University, Georgia Perimeter College-Dunwoody, and University of West Georgia.

Award-winning films from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, US/Vietnam, India, and the Philippines are featured at the festival.

A “Jury Award” will be presented to the best film of the festival, according to the organizer of the event. The winner will be announced at the close of the festival on Oct 22.
