First Emperor: Terracotta Warrior

Discovered by farmers digging a well in China in 1974, the terracotta warriors are among the most significant archaelogical finds of the 20th century. The exhibition at High Museum features 100 objects, including 15 life-size figures - the most ever loaned to U.S. - and it offers insight into China's mysterious First Emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, who reigned from 221-210 B.C. Emperor Qin united China, began the Great Wall, and created a vast terracotta army to protect him in the afterlife.
